Abstract

The study aims to analyze the process of translating English into Indonesian and the difficulties faced by students’ in translating English into Indonesian. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. Which include gathering information through observation, interviews, and documentation. The researcher was gathered data from 4th semester, which has 8 students. And whose lecture and students wereserve as the subjects of this study at IAIN Fattahul Muluk Papua. Partcipants were be selected by purposive sampling. In the research, dear to main technique were beused in collecting the data namely observation and interview. Discourse analysis is the method of choice for data analysis in this study, its steps are as, Data Recordings, Data Transcprition, Data interpretation. The results show that the process of translating by students, namely the process of reading, the process translate stage, method Faithful translation, Idiomatic. And the difficulties faced by students’ by the students’ in translating namely, the students have difficulty in grammatical, the students’ difficulties in new vocabualry. This study suggested to pay attention to the words and check the grammar once more, even though Google translate is utilized as a tool for the translation process. After that, students are urged to use additional assistance programmers like Quilbot and Grammarly to achieve better translation outcomes. The researcher also offers tips to EFL students’ on how to learn grammar more effectively and develop their vocabualry knowledge and grammatical.
